This time last year…

Georgia Southern finished last season with a record of 10-9 overall and 5-4 for a 6th place finish in Southern Conference play. The 2003 Garnet and Gold squad posted a 13-10 record, going 3-5 in conference play.

In the rankings…

Florida State comes into the 2003-04 season ranked 54th in the nation with several players on the team ranked in the south region as well as the country. Senior Anca Dumitrescu leads the way, ranking 10th in the region (63rd nationally) while reigning NCAA South Region Rookie of the Year Michaela Moldovan is ranked just one spot below Dumitrescu at No. 11 (79th nationally). Newcomer Roxanne Clarke, ranked at the No. 21 regionally, is expected to contribute right away by playing in her first career regular season match. Senior Christina Denny rounds out the region pack ranked in the top 30 at 28th.
