Tallahassee – The Florida State women’s tennis team will host the Troy State Trojans tomorrow afternoon, Wednesday, January 28th at the Scott Speicher Tennis Center at 2:00 p.m. The home match is the second in a series of six consecutive contests being held on the Tribe’s home court.

This match

Florida State will play the Troy State Trojans for the first time in the program’s history. The Seminoles are coming off a 7-0, season-opening win against Georgia Southern, this past Saturday at the Scott Speicher Tennis Center. The Trojans, who faced Ole Miss in their last outing, lost 5-2 to the SEC school.

Against the “Sun”

Florida State is undefeated against the Atlantic Sun Conference in 16 contests since 1981. The Tribe has played five teams over the last 22 years, to amass a 16-0 record: Central Florida, Florida Atlantic, Georgia State, Jacksonville and Stetson.

The Last Outing

Against Georgia Southern, the Tribe worked out the early season kinks, winning two of three doubles matches and sweeping the singles area. Seniors Anca Dumitrescu and Christina Denny and newcomer Lindsay Deason led the Seminole charge, besting their singles opponents 6-0, 6-0, in addition to posting wins in doubles.
