The Competitors

In the group traveling to Nebraska, three of this season’s event winners are slated to compete in their respective events. Sophomore John Fallone followed that meet with a win at the Florida Intercollegiates in Gainesville. The Virginia Tech transfer, competing in the weight throw, tossed a personal best distance of 17.03m (55’10”). This past weekend at the Gator Invitational, junior Ian Hornabrook bested the field in the men’s mile run, crossing the tape in a time of 4:11.31. All are expected to compete in the highly competitive events at the Husker Invite.

The Facility

The Bob Devaney Sports Center Track is one of only seven hydraulic-banked track facilities in the world. Nebraska’s state of the art 200-meter track features the widest curves of any indoor track in the world. The track is ideal for producing fast times in all events. The recently renovated facility allows for over 5,000 spectators at track meets, and has hosted the Big 12 Indoor Track Championships four years in a row.
