TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (seminoles.com) –
The Florida State basketball team, which is ranked it the top 25 of both major national polls, plays host to Lincoln Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday night at the Donald L. Tucker Center in its first of two exhibition games. The game and parking in the main Tucker Center lot are both free of charge.
The defending ACC Champion Seminoles return four of their top five scorers from their 2012 team that finished with a 25-10 record and a 12-4 mark in ACC play. The Seminoles had a 4-1 record against Duke and North Carolina and defeated the Blue Devils and the Tar Heels in the semifinal and championship rounds of the ACC Tournament.
Lincoln Memorial comes to Tallahassee following an appearance in the 2012 NCAA Division II Tournament. The Railsplitters finished with a 26-6 record which saw the Division II power win their first 16 games of the season. Lincoln is ranked 25th in the NCAA Division II preseason poll by Division II Bulletin and picked to finish second in the South Atlantic Conference in a vote of the league’s 10 coaches. Forward Vincent Bailey, who was named to the South Atlantic League All-Freshman Team, was a pre-season all-conference first-team selection.
Florida State will play host to Saint Leo University in its second exhibition game Nov. 5 at 7:00 before opening its regular season against South Alabama at home on Nov. 9th at 7:00 p.m.. The Seminoles’ game against Saint Leo will be played to benefit the Aubry Boyd Foundation.
