Sept. 18, 2003

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The No. 9 Florida State Seminoles (3-0, 3-0 ACC) held a light 1 ? hour practice in shorts Thursday afternoon as they wrapped up preparations for Saturday’s home game against Colorado (2-1, 0-0 Big 12). FSU will be without Lorenzo Booker, who was the second team tailback behind Greg Jones before injuring his knee against Maryland two weeks ago. Jones will again be backed up by sophomore Willie Reid, who made the move from wide receiver to tailback after Booker and Leon Washington were injured.

“Booker and Leon Washington are still out,” said head coach Bobby Bowden. “Matt Henshaw is also out. Bobby Meeks will probably be able to play. Other than that we’re OK.”

Henshaw, who injured his knee in Tuesday’s practice, is the second team tight end behind Paul Irons. Donnie Carter will now serve as the second tight end. Meeks (asthma), missed practice time this week, but is listed as the probable starter at tight guard. He is backed up by Eric Broe.

The Seminoles return to ACC competition next week at Duke and then have an open week. FSU’s next home game is an October 11th contest against Miami at 12:00 noon.

Florida State hosts Colorado Saturday at Doak Campbell Stadium. The game will be televised live on ABC at 3:30 p.m. Members of the 1993 national championship team will be honored in a ceremony on the field 20 minutes prior to kickoff.
