TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida States’ Ali Weber, Marina Raic, Natalie Carratala and Kylie Thompson all advanced to championship Sunday in the Lady Seminole Classic today at Scott Speicher Tennis Center.

Raic will face her teammate, Weber, in the flight B singles championship
match. Raic advanced to the finals after defeating Miami’s Marcy Hora 6-1,
6-1. Weber qualified for the finals with a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Miami’s
Alanna Broderick.

“Anytime you can get teammates playing each other in tournament finals
you know you are playing good tennis,” said head coach Lise Gregory.

FSU’s Natalie Carratala will play Tammy Wang of Minnesota for the flight
C title. Carratala defeated Tonya Eberhart of Florida International 4-6,
7-5, 6-2 and went on to beat FSU’s Kylie Thompson in her semifinal match.

“Natalie worked extremely hard on conditioning over the summer,” said
Lise Gregory. “It really paid off for her today.”

“After she played a three hour match she was able to go into her next
match fresh and get the victory,” added Gregory.

In doubles action, Seminoles’ Raic and Thompson defeated Chong and Garcia
of FIU 8-1 to advance to the flight B semifinals. They are scheduled to
face Miller and Ryan of Vanderbilt at 9 a.m. Sunday.

“This tournament exposed what we need to work on in order to be
competitive in the spring,” said Gregory. “This tournament is exactly what
we needed.”

Doubles semifinals will begin at 9 a.m. tomorrow. Singles championships
are set for 10 a.m. with the doubles finals to follow.
