TALLAHASSEE, FL- Florida State men’s tennis continued their hot play at Scott Speicher Tennis Center as all six Seminoles advanced to the quarterfinals in the 2007 ITA Summer Circuit Tournament on Tuesday.
Number one seed, Chris Cloer, two seed Bradley Mixson, three seed Bobby Deye, four seed Andrew Bailey, Michael O’Shea and Jason Hood all won their matches in straight sets and will play in quarterfinal matches Tuesday afternoon. The teammates are a combined 12-0 in singles competition for the tournament.
Out of the eight players left in the draw, six of them are Seminoles which means there will be two quarterfinal matches pitting teammates against each other. Deye will play O’Shea and Mixson will square off against Hood. The winners of those two matches will play in the semifinals Wednesday. If Cloer and Bailey win Tuesday, they will face each other in a semifinal match on Wednesday as well.
Florida State teammates will also face each other in double’s matches Tuesday afternoon as Mixson and Bailey will take on Deye and O’Shea. Cloer and Hood will also partner together for a semifinal match against Satoshi Goda and Corey Smith.
