April 7, 2001

OPELIKA, Al. –
Florida State senior Mark Donaldson shot a career-low tying 69 in the second round of the Billy Hitchcock Intercollegiate at the Saugahatchee Country Club and is in a tie for ninth place in the individual standings heading into Sunday’s third round. Donaldson’s super round allowed the Seminoles to move into ninth place in the team standings after two rounds.

Donaldson (Kirkaldy, Scotland) shot a 69 and has totaled a one-under par 143 for the first two rounds of the tournament. He is in a pack of six golfers tied at one-under and is only four strokes off the lead. Payton Osborn of Alabama Birmingham shot an even-par 72 in Saturday’s second round and is the current leader. Donaldson’s 69 is his lowest score since he also shot a 69 in the Bridges All-American Tournament during his sophomore season.

Freshman Rusty Mosley (Vidalia, Ga.) shot a six over par 78 on Saturday as is currently in a tie for 22nd-place with a two-day total of 151.
