TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) -Quianna Chaney scored 18 of her career-high 27 points in the first half, and No. 11 LSU beat Florida State 73-61 Thursday night.

Chaney scored the game’s first eight points, and LSU’s first 14. She made her first four 3-point attempts to help the Tigers jump out to a 27-11 lead.

Chaney finished 5-of-9 from 3-point range and 10-for-17 from the field overall.

The Seminoles closed within four with 12:35 to go and had two chances to make it a one possession game, but they couldn’t convert. The Tigers put together a 9-2 run to push their lead back to eleven, and the Seminoles never threatened again.

LSU got a boost from All-American Sylvia Fowles, who played 22 minutes in her first action since undergoing arthroscopic surgery on her left knee Dec. 21. The 6-foot-6 center came off the bench to score 11 points.

Shante Williams scored 20 points for the Seminoles (10-5), and freshman Antoinette Howard added 11.

Florida State is playing without their best post player Britney Miller, and its leading scorer Tanae Davis-Cain. Both players are suspended.
