MELBOURNE, Australia – Damous Anderson scored 34 points and Ron
Hale added 27 but it was not enough as the Melbourne Tigers downed Florida
State 110-106 late Saturday night in the opening game of the Seminoles’
exhibition tour of Australia.

The Tigers play in Australia’s National Basketball League, the top
professional league in the country.

Melbourne led 49-46 at halftime and 76-75 after three quarters.
The Tigers stretched the lead to 10 early in the final period before FSU
rallied. But the Seminoles were never able to take the lead down the
stretch.

Florida State hit 11 three-pointers in the game, including four by
Adrian Crawford. Crawford finished with 20 points on his 21st birthday.
Hale added three three-pointers while Delvon Arrington added two and
finished with eight points.

The game was played on FSU’s first full day in the country after a
26-hour trip.

The Seminoles take on the Melbourne Titans in the second contest of
their seven-game tour tonight.
