Saturday’s game marks the 17th meeting between Florida State and Maryland…The Terrapins lead the all-time series 11-5 after a 107-87 victory in the first meeting of the season on Jan. 27 in College Park. The victory was Maryland’s fourth straight against FSU and its 10th in the last 12 meetings in the series…The game is the final one in the Leon County Civic Center for two Seminole seniors – Terrell Baker and walk-on Gibson Pierre…Florida State is just 3-4 at home against the Terrapins since joining the ACC for the 1991-92 season.

The Seminoles dropped their sixth straight game on Wednesday at NC State, 71-63. FSU trailed by 18 points with 12:40 to play (47-29) and got to within four points four times in the final five minutes but fell short…Ron Hale led Florida State with 20 points, his 10th 20-point performance of the season. Hale is tied for the ACC lead in scoring in league games at a 19.1 clip…Terrell Baker bounced back from his worst shooting slump of the season by scoring 15 points on 6-of-10 at NC State. It was Baker’s first double figure scoring game in his last four and just his second in his last seven ACC games…The Seminoles were outrebounded at NC State 45-27, including 16-2 at the offensive end. Florida State has been outrebounded by 15 or more seven times this year and by 10 or more 10 times…FSU committed just nine turnovers at NC State and its turnover margin of 2.0 ranks third in the ACC.
The Terrapins are coming off a 77-60 home win over Clemson on Wednesday night. Junior guard Steve Francis led Maryland with his finest performance of the year. He scored a season-high 32 points on 11-of-15 shooting, while grabbing eight rebounds and getting six steals…Francis leads the Terps in scoring at 16.7 points per game while Terence Morris (15.8 ppg) and Laron Profit (14.1) follow…Freshman Lonny Baxter has started four times at center since Maryland lost Obinna Ekezie to a season-ending achilles tendon injury. Baxter scored nine points in 15 minutes off the bench in the first meeting with FSU…The Terps are scoring 85.6 points per game and outscoring their foes by 20.2 while forcing 22.0 turnovers per game.
