IT ALL STARTED IN AUGUST
The Seminoles started early this season, practicing for 10 days in August before embarking on a 10-day European adventure. The team visited France and Switzerland and played four games. FSU won the four games by an average of 47 points! See page 55 of the FSU Women’s Basketball Media Guide for a daily diary.

THE LAST TIME
The last time FSU played in an NCAA Tournament, the field was just 48 teams. FSU was a No. 5 seed in the Mideast in 1990-91 and hosted No. 8 seeded Appalachian State in the first round. The Tribe advanced to second round action with a 96-57 win and traveled to Bowling Green, Kentucky and fell 72-69 to No. 4-seeded Western Kentucky.

THE SERIES WITH TULANE
Friday’s contest will be the 18th meeting between FSU and Tulane as both schools played each other regularly as members of the Metro Conference. FSU holds a 10-7 series advantage and the last time the two teams played was in 1990-91 — a 104-66 FSU win in New Orleans. Ironically, that was also the last season FSU advanced to the NCAA Tournament. The series began in the 1978-79 season.
