TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –
If Florida State University men’s basketball fans were left craving for more after Leonard Hamilton’s first year as head coach, then their chance to get back into the buffet line is here. Followers of the Tribe will get their first look at the 2003-04 edition of the men’s basketball squad at the annual Fan Day on Saturday (November 8).
Doors to the Leon County Civic Center open at 2:30 p.m. for pregame activities before the men tip-off with Global Sports in a 3:30 p.m. exhibition. Following the game, players and coaches will be on hand for an autograph session.
While supplies last, Florida State will be giving away men’s basketball posters to every fan that walks through the door. A limited amount of t-shirts will also be given away to fan’s arriving early. Prior to the exhibition, there will be games for kids of all ages and the events’ primary sponsor, Fox 49, will host on-court contests during halftime. The first 700 fans will be given a coupon for a free hot dog and drink.
This season should be one of the most exciting in recent years for the men’s basketball program. Florida State was picked to finish sixth in the preseason Atlantic Coast Conference media poll, its highest ranking since 1994. Leading the Tribe this year will be All-ACC selection Tim Pickett who is backed by the number one recruiting class in the nation.
The Seminoles tip off for real when they start the season on November 21 against Maine at 7 p.m. Florida State has 17 home games this season, including the ACC-Big Ten Challenge and the always competitive conference schedule.
