Seminoles Finish 14th At Tar Heel Tourney

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Senior Louise Wright finished in 25th place in
the individual standings with a 19-over par score of 235 and the Florida
State University women’s golf team finished in 14th place at the Franklin
Street Trust/Tar Heel Invitational at Finley Golf Course as play in the
event concluded Sunday.


Wright finished with her second best three-round tournament total
of the fall season in leading the Seminoles. She shot a personal
tournament-low 73 in the second round on Saturday. Wright averages a team
low 77.63 strokes per round in 11 rounds this season.


Freshman Alison Curdt and sophomore Kristin Tamulis led the
Seminoles during the third round as they both shot scores of 81. Curdt
finished with a three-round scored of 243 and Tamulis with a 245. Curdt’s
243 score for the tournament is her career best.


Candy Hannemann and Leigh Anne Hardin of Duke shared individual
medalist honors in leading the Blue Devils to the team title. Hannemann
and Hardin shot identical scores of 73-72-75 for a four-over par total of
220 to tie for the tournament lead.


The Seminoles begin play in the three-round Lady Paladin
Invitational in Greenville, S.C. on Oct. 20.
