Florida State Head Coach Leonard Hamilton will host the Seminole Basketball luncheon, an event presented by the Roundball Club, on Monday, January 26, 2009 at the University Center Club in the Tom & Ginny Futch Ballroom on the third floor. The doors will open at 11:30 a.m. and the program will begin at 12 noon.
Coach Hamilton and his staff will gather along with friends, boosters, alumni and Roundball Club members as they discuss game strategy, goals and take questions from those in attendance. The admission price is $12. Please call (850) 644-3484 to RSVP.
Florida State is 15-4 with a 2-2 mark in ACC play entering its game on Saturday at Virginia. The Seminoles defeated then-No. 23 Florida earlier this season to mark the seventh consecutive season that they have defeated a ranked opponent under Hamilton.
Florida State, which has won seven games away from home this season including an ACC road win at NC State, plays its second consecutive ACC road game at Virginia at John Paul Jones Arena on Saturday, January 24 at 4:00 p.m. Florida State has won four of its last five games against Virginia heading into Saturday’s game. The Seminoles’ seven road wins are tied for the third most in the ACC this season behind eight each by Wake Forest and North Carolina (who have both spent time ranked as the nation’s No. 1 team this season) and seven by Clemson (who is currently ranked in the nation’s top 10). Following Saturday’s game against Virginia the Seminoles will play host to No. 5/6 North Carolina (Jan. 28, 9 p.m.) in their first of two consecutive home games.
