Kristin Boyce had a phenomenal weekend. Being from the state of Texas (Austin), Boyce was inserted into the starting line-up against Texas A&M and we felt she would respond very well. Boyce’s was one of the top three or four players on the field Friday night and she did a fantastic job against last week’s national player of the week Heather Ragsdale. Boyce has responded well from an ankle injury that sidelined her for the first part of the season and she proved that she deserved to be in the starting line-up. She was an integral part of our success against the No. 5 and No. 7 teams this past weekend.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Cindy Schofield
Cindy Schofield started to make a bid for a starting position on our first road trip in Missouri. Schofield has a great first touch and possesses the ball well and with the current dimensions of our team we needed someone to help us possess the ball. Her skills allow Emma Breland to be freed up to go to goal and the results showed with Breland’s two goals against Texas A&M. She has done a great job. After she was rewarded with a starting nod, Schofield responded with a fantastic third goal against the Aggies that provided us with the separation we needed. Schofield then really brought life into the team Sunday against Clemson when she stepped up and evened the game at a goal apiece on a great off-balance shot. She’s playing with confidence and she really changed the complexion of the Clemson game.
