The Florida State men’s golf team is in a tie for sixth place in the teams standings and senior Seath Lauer is in a tie for first place in the individual standings after two rounds of the Olympia Fields Invitational at the Olympia Fields Country. Lauer shot a one-over par 71 and maintained his lofty individual standing heading into Sunday’s third and final round.
With a two round total of 139, Lauer is tied with Max Kieffer of Florida for the individual lead. He was tied for first after the first round and remained tied for first after the first 36 holes. Lauer will play for his first ever individual victory when he tees off on Sunday.
The Seminoles, who were in second place after the first round, are only nine strokes behind Arizona State heading into the final round. The Seminoles won the team championship of their first event of the fall season – the GolfWeek Conference Challenge.
