2005 Nationals

In 2005, Florida State finished 35th with two points at the NCAA National Championships.  Those points were scored by the Seminoles’ 800 free relay that earned Honorable Mention All-American honors as they finished in 16th place.  The team consisted of Steve Roof, Kyle Young, sophomore Billy Jamerson (Savannah, Ga.) and former Seminole Thomas Bishop.

Three Deep

The 100 free will feature three Seminoles which is the most number of swimmers that FSU has in a single event.  Joel Roycik is Florida State‘s top seed in the 100 free at 24th (43.75).  Ed Denton and Alex Kennon are seeded 28th (43.86) and 36th (44.00), respectively.

200 Back Champ

Jarryd Botha was the only Seminole to win and individual ACC Championship this season as he earned the gold medal in the 200 back with a time of 1:45.54.  Botha’s conference championship time puts him as the 23rd at nationals.

Free Relays

Florida State won conference championships in the 200 and 400 free relays.  The 400 free relay enters nationals as the 12th seed (2:55.92) while the 200 free relay is the 14th seed (1:19.43).

Going the Distance

Steve Roof and Kyle Young will compete in the 1650 free and 500 free.  In the 500 free, Roof is seeded 22nd (4:21.08) and Young is 39th (4:25.41).  In the 1650 free, Young is seeded 18th (15:08.40) and Roof is 23rd (15:11.94).  Roof will also compete in the 400 IM where he is seeded 32nd (3:53.89).

Diving Zone Qualifier
