Jonas Blixt, a freshman on the Seminole men’s golf team, is enjoying his first year at Florida State as one of the top newcomers in the ACC. As the Seminoles prepare to play in the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate March 27-29, Blixt finds himself at the top of Florida State’s leader board in most statistical categories. He found time to visit with seminoles.com just before the team left for the Hootie Tournament which features a concert by Hootie and the Blowfish Saturday night.
Q: What course do you most want to play?
A: I have always dreamed about playing Pebble Beach or St Andrews.
Q: Do you have any superstitions to help your golf game?
A: I have a special marker on my ball.
Q: Have you ever crashed a golf cart?
A: No, but my friend I was playing with did one time back at home.
Q: If you ever hit a hole in one, what do you think your reaction would be?
A: I would jump around and go crazy!!!
Q: Tell us about your first time on a golf course.
A: I don’t remember the first time but the first time I remember was when my dad and I played 27 holes on a beautiful golf course near my home. I was exhausted and my mom was angry at my dad for letting me play that much in a single day.
Q: What was your favorite cartoon as a child?
A: Scooby Doo
Q: How often do you wash your golf balls during a round?
A: Each time I’m on the green putting.
Q: If you could caddy for any player, who would it be?
A: I would like to caddy for Phil Mickelson.
Q: If you could have superpower, which would it be and why?
A: I would like to be able to fly. I could go everywhere and see the world in a new perspective. I could do a lot of cool stuff.
