TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida State baseball team will make its 15th appearance in the NCAA Super Regionals this weekend when it heads to Gainesville to begin a best-of-three series with rival Florida on Saturday evening at 6 p.m. on ESPN2.
The second game of the series will be played on Sunday, June 12 also at 6 p.m. on ESPN2 or ESPNU. The final game of the series, if necessary, is slated for Monday, June 13. The finale will be broadcast on ESPN2 in one of three time slots (1:00 p.m/4:00 p.m./7:00 p.m.) or on ESPNU at 7:00 p.m.
The Seminoles reached the Super Regionals after posting victories against Alabama State, Southern Mississippi and South Alabama in the Tallahassee Regional. Meanwhile, Florida advanced after a series of wins against Bethune-Cookman, Connecticut and Georgia Tech.
Tickets for the NCAA Gainesville Super Regional are currently on-sale via phone at 888-378-6653 through the FSU Ticket Office for baseball season ticket holders and Seminole Boosters only until 5:00 p.m. on June 7.
The University of Florida will go on-sale with any remaining tickets to the general public beginning Wednesday, June 8 at 8:30 am. The number for the University of Florida Athletic Ticket Office is 352-375-4683. Single game tickets will also be available for purchase here.
It is the third time that the two Sunshine State programs have squared off in the Super Regionals and second time in as many seasons. The first meeting took place in 2005 when the Gators defeated Florida State 8-5 and 8-1 in Gainesville. Florida had similar results in 2015, when it downed the Seminoles by scores of 13-5 and 11-4.
