GAINESVILLE, Fla. –
Florida State senior Katie Quinney is tied for fourth in the individual standings and the Seminole women’s golf team is in a tie for ninth place after the first round of Lady Gator Invitational at the University of Florida Golf Course. The Lady Gator Invitational is the spring season opening event for the Seminoles.

Duke, which won the season-opening Lady Puerto Rico Classic last week and is ranked as the nation’s No. 1 team, is in first place in the team standings after the first round. The Blue Devils have a seven-stroke lead over Michigan State. Alison Fouch of Michigan State is the individual leader with a one-under par score of 69. Brittany Lang of Duke is in second place after finishing with an even par score of 70.
