Seminoles Recognized By Board Of Commissioners

Leonard Hamilton, who led the Seminole men’s basketball team to the first ACC Championship and to their school record fourth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance in 2012, was honored by the Board of County Commissioners on May 8 with a resolution in recognition of the team’s accomplishments.

Commissioner Bill Proctor made the presentation of a certificate proclaiming the resolution that read in part: Whereas, the Florida State University has a rich tradition and a storied history and has added yet another chapter to its books; and Whereas, the Men’s Basketball team has yet again proven that Florida State University produces the brightest and the best in sports and academics with an impressive senior class that won a school record 95 games and defeated 16 nationally ranked teams including the nation’s No. 1 ranked team twice during their four year careers … Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Board of County Commissioners of Leon County, Florida that the Florida State University Seminoles Men’s Basketball Team be recognized and congratulated for their outstanding 2011-10-12 season dated this 8th of May, A.D., 2012.
