TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The No. 29 Florida State men’s tennis team was selected to the 2010 Division I Tennis Championships today, Tuesday, May 4th. The team will travel to the University of Georgia for the first and second rounds of the tournament and will face No. 42 Boise State. The Dan Magill Tennis Complex will also be the site of the national championship May 20-31.

The Seminoles will play Saturday at 1:00 p.m. against Boise State. No. 1 seed Georgia will face UNC Greensboro at 4:00 p.m. later in the day. The winners will face off against one another Sunday at 2:00 p.m. for the opportunity to reach the round of 16.

“I think Georgia is a great place to play,” said head coach Dwayne Hultquist. “I think it’s an exciting venue, they have a great crowd and our guys will have to get used to that. It’s a nice environment, I’m glad to be going there. It’s a tough draw, Boise State is a good team and if we’re fortunate enough to get through Boise State then we play Georgia who is one of the best programs in the country year in and year out. We actually know their players and they’ve got a lot of good players.”

The men’s team currently holds a 14-9 record which includes ten wins over ranked teams. The Seminoles finished the ACC with a 7-6 record while having Jean-Yves Aubone and Vahid Mirzadeh named to the All-ACC team.

All season the men have three singles players ranked in No. 31 Aubone, No. 54 Mirzadeh and No. 66 Clint Bowles. They also have two doubles teams ranked with Mirzadeh and Connor Smith ranked No. 37 and Aubone and Bowles at No. 57.
