TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Michael Joiner of Fayetteville, N.C. has signed
a national letter of intent to play basketball at Florida State University.

A 6-7 forward, Joiner averaged 16.8 points, 9.2 rebounds and 3.1
assists per game last season at Seventy-First High School. He earned first
team all-conference, all-region and all-state honors a year ago. Joiner
was one of the top players at last summer’s Addias Big Time Tournament and
the Nike All-American Camp. He is widely regarded as one of the nation’s
top 40 high school seniors.

“I love Michael’s athleticism and willingness to do it all on the
floor,” said Florida State head coach Steve Robinson. “He is very
versatile. He can rebound, defend, score and handle the ball. He is
capable of making all kinds of plays and finishing them on the offensive
end. Michael is very solid in all phases of his game and his life.”

Joiner is a member of his high school’s National Honor Society and
chose Florida State over Tennessee and Notre Dame.
