Seminoles Sink Nicholls State From Long Range

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) – Florida State came up one 3-pointer shy of tying a
single-game school record, hitting 13 in a 99-54 victory over Nicholls State on
Wednesday night.

The Seminoles (3-0) sank seven of their first nine attempts from beyond the
arc, building a 23-2 lead that the Colonels (0-2) never threatened.

Anthony Richardson led the Seminoles with 19 points and Tim Pickett added
16, while Alexander Johnson and Von Wafer added 12 and 11 points respectively.
Seven different Seminoles connected on 3-pointers, including four from Pickett
and three from Wafer.

FSU point guards Nate Johnson and Todd Galloway combined for 12 assists and
just two turnovers, while aiding a defense that turned 29 turnovers into 37
points.

Nicholls State missed its first 12 shots and didn’t make its first field
goal until 11:41 into the first half. The Colonels trailed 44-24 at the half
and were outscored 18-3 over the first six minutes of the second half.

Jason Wilkins led Nicholls State with 19 points.
