Seminoles Spend Thanksgiving Preparing For Second-Ranked Gators

Nov. 27, 2008

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.  – Thanksgiving is about food, family and football. It was no different on the campus of Florida State Thursday for the Seminole football team. The squad spent Thanksgiving Day with its football family on the practice fields as preparations for Saturday’s showdown with the Gators concluded with a 15 period practice. Following the workout, the team had turkey dinner at the training table.

Head Coach Bobby Bowden:

On how the week went:

“We had good practices. We just about got everybody ready to go. We have done about everything we can do to prepare.”

On what worries him more about the Gators, their offense or their defense:

“They are solid. As you pick out a part of theirs you hardly see any weakness. Their kicking game is excellent. Their offense is excellent. Their defense is excellent. Their statistics nationally substantiate that.”

On practicing on Thanksgiving:

“I am kind of used to it. There have been times in the past where we had an open date this week and that was sure enjoyable. At least today we will get to spend a half a day at home with our families.”
