The Florida State women’s basketball team will have to bounce back quickly from Thursday’s 65-60 overtime loss at Mississippi State because the Seminoles get right back into action. FSU, now 6-1, will face 2-4 Fairfield Saturday, December 2nd at 1 p.m. in the first round of East Carolina’s Lady Pirates Invitational. The consolation/championship games are at 1 and 3:00 p.m. Sunday and the Seminoles will either play North Dakota State or host East Carolina.
Senior Alicia Gladden, who has scored in double figures in three of the last four games, recorded Florida State’s first double-double of the season with 18 points and 11 rebounds at Mississippi State. It is Gladden’s 12 career double-double. She now leads the team in both scoring at 14.3 points and rebounding at 6.7 rebounds per game.
Fairfield is led by Sabra Wrice who is averaging 13.7 points per game. The Stags are averaging just 59.7 points per game to FSU’s 74.7 points per game.
