Seminoles Stop Savannah State, 88-73

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP)Tim Pickett scored 24 points to lead Florida State
past overmatched Savannah State 88-73 on Sunday as the Seminoles reached their
highest win total in six seasons.

The Seminoles (15-6) won for the third time in four games. Pickett matched a
career-high with six 3-pointers and Anthony Richardson and Alexander Johnson
scored 14 points each. Michael Joiner added 12 for Florida State.

The Seminoles used a 13-3 run midway through the first half to open up a
14-point lead that the Tigers (1-22) never threatened.

Savannah State, a Division I-A independent, suffered its 17th consecutive
defeat and are winless against Division I-A schools this season. The Tigers
lone victory came at Division II Eastern Kentucky on Dec. 20.

Jamal Daniels led the Tigers with 18 points and seven rebounds.
