TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –
The Florida State men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams will host the University of Alabama Friday afternoon in dual meet action that is set to begin at 3 p.m. at the Bobby E. Leach Aquatic Center on the FSU campus. Alabama enters the meet with its men’s team ranked 16th in the nation and its women’s squad ranked 21st. The Lady Seminoles hope to break into the top 25 with a win against the Crimson Tide, as they currently received votes to place them 26th.

Friday’s meet will be the final home appearance for three seniors on the men’s swim team. Team captain Jonathan Kaplan, co-captain Richard Cowling and fellow senior Steve Forson will be honored by head coach Neil Harper and his staff at intermission.

Both the men’s and women’s squads are coming off impressive home victories against Florida Atlantic. In that meet, the women won all 16 events and the men won the last 14. The Lady Seminoles are looking to win their fifth-consecutive dual meet, while the men hope to win their fourth in a row. FSU’s women’s squad currently holds a 9-2 record in dual meet action and the men are 8-2.
