TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (seminoles.com) – Florida State’s Aaron Thomas, who is the Seminoles’ leading returning scorer heading into his junior season, is featured on the front cover of the 2014-15 Athlon Sports College Basketball Preview Yearbook which is on newsstands now. Thomas is a pre-season All-ACC selection and has Florida State projected to play in the NCAA Tournament for the fifth time in the last seven years.
Thomas led the Seminoles in scoring (14.5 ppg) and steals (1.6 spg) and is the third leading returning scorer in the ACC for the 2014-15 season. His ability to attack the basket while possessing a feathery touch from the perimeter on his jump shots has already made him one of the top shooters in school history.
Thomas earned All-ACC Honorable Mention honors as a sophomore as he averaged a team-leading and career-high 14.5 points per game. He enters his junior season with 726 points and needs only 274 points to become only the 43rd player in school history to score 1,000 or more career points. He is also one of the top free throw shooters in school history. Thomas begins his junior season ranked 18th in school history with a career free throw shooting percentage of .777 and is looking to become one of only seven players in school history with a free throw shooting percentage better than .800 for his career.
Thomas and his Florida State teammates will be introduced to the Seminole Nation at the Seminole Premier at the newly renovated Donald L. Tucker Center on Oct. 20. Please follow the Seminoles on facebook (facebook.com/FSUBasketball) and on twitter (@FSU_MBasketball) leading up to the event for more information.

What They Are saying About Thomas
“He (Aaron Thomas) has the whole package. We’re looking for him to have an All-ACC type year. He’s now extremely confident, he’s experienced, doesn’t get rattled very much and he always seems to have a knack for making big plays.”
Florida State University
“I’ve seen a lot of really talented kids during my basketball career, but sometimes you can just tell a kid is different. AT has been one of those guys since the day he stepped on campus. He has ridiculous work ethic and the kid can straight up ball. I think he’ll be great as the go-to guy – it almost makes him better that way.”
Florida State University
“Florida State’s Aaron Thomas averaged 18.2 PPG after he became a starter on 2/5. One of the best players in college basketball that no one talks about.”
