“Blame Duke for Monte Cummings’ dilemma as a marked man in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
The Florida State guard made his name known throughout the league when he scored the game-winning basket to topple the No. 1 Blue Devils six weeks ago. His drive around Jason Williams and layup over Mike Dunleavy was featured on ESPN’s Plays of the Week. Cummings later participated in an Internet chat, in part to discuss those heroics.”

SETTING THE SCENE
Florida State travels to Clemson to play the Tigers in its final regular season road game of the season. Following Saturday’s game, the Seminoles play host to No. 2 Maryland (Feb. 27) and Georgia Tech (March 2) before traveling to Charlotte to play in the 49th annual Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament. Florida State enters Saturday’s game against the Tigers looking to win their second consecutive game after a 66-59 victory over No. 15 Virginia Wednesday in Tallahassee. The Seminoles’ victory over Virginia marked their second victory over a ranked team this season. Florida State defeated No. 1 ranked and previously undefeated Duke, 77-76, Jan. 6 in Tallahassee. The victory over No. 15 ranked Virginia gave the Seminoles multiple victories over teams ranked in the nation’s top 15 for the first time since the 1997-98 season – head coach Steve Robinson’s first in Tallahassee.

SEMINOLES PLAYING TO TAKE TWO AGAINST CLEMSON
Florida State enters Saturday’s game against Clemson looking to win its second game of the regular season against the Tigers. The Seminoles won the first meeting between the two teams, 68-63, Jan. 24 in Tallahassee. The Seminoles have won three consecutive regular season games against and five of the last seven games overall against Clemson.
