Seminoles Travel To Valspar Invitational At Floridian

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The No. 12 Florida State men’s golf team competes in the Valspar Invitational at the Floridian Golf Club in Palm City, Fla., beginning Monday. The 15 teams play 36 holes on Monday with a 9:00 a.m. shotgun start and close it out on Tuesday.

The Seminoles have one team title this semester and two second place finishes. The team won the team and individual title at the USF Invitational and took home second place honors at the Seminole Intercollegiate and Gator Invitational.

The line-up this weekend is the third different one in the four tournaments played this semester. Senior Joaquin Lolas moves into the line-up after playing as an individual this spring. He finished tied for third last weekend at the Seminole Intercollegiate.

Joining him are sophomores Hank Lebioda and Rowin Caron. Lebioda tied for first at the Gator Invitational while Caron finished tied for eighth at the Seminole Intercollegiate.

Freshmen Jack Maguire and Harry Ellis round out the line-up for the Seminoles. Maguire won medalist honors at the USF Invitational and has the team low stroke average of 69.67 this spring. Ellis finished tied for 16th at the Seminole Intercollegiate.

Joining Florida State in the 15-team field is host schools No. 8 Houston, No. 19 Arkansas, No. 3 Oklahoma State, No. 4 Georgia Tech, No. 9 Illinois, No. 16 UCLA, No. 21 Texas A&M, No. 27 LSU, No. 28 SMU, No. 29 Kent State, No. 31 USF, No. 43 Tennessee, Florida and Lamar.
