TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State volleyball will welcome Virginia Tech Friday night on Lucy McDaniel Court at Tully Gym in its final home match before hitting the road for three away contests at Georgia Tech, Clemson, and South Florida. First serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. tonight and the first 250 fans in attendance will receive a water bottle and a Bagel Bagel Buck, compliments of Bagel Bagel.
Admission is free and the Seminoles will hold a free volleyball clinic immediately following the match for any child who wishes to participate.
The Seminoles (12-8, 4-5 ACC) will look to improve their ACC record against a Hokie team that came back from a two-game deficient to defeat the Seminoles, 3-2, on Sept. 23, in Blacksburg. Virginia Tech owns an 11-9 overall and 5-3 conference record. In their last outing, the Hokies fell to Duke, 1-3 (22-30, 16-30, 30-23, 19-30), in Durham, N.C.
Florida State is led by senior middle blockers Aisha Carr (Dallas, Texas/Skyline HS) and Amanda Santos (Minas Gerais, Brazil/College of Southern Idaho) who combined for 19 total blocks in the Seminoles shortfall to Miami in five games (2-3) Wednesday night.
The Seminoles are ranked No. 1 in the ACC in opponent’s hitting percentage, holding teams to a low .131 hitting percentage.
