THE 2008 NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP FIELD
Florida State junior All-America Caroline Westrup looks to win the NCAA women’s golf individual championship as one of six individual participants at the 2008 NCAA Women’s Golf Championships. She will compete against five other individuals and the golfers on each of the 24 competing teams for the individual national championship. Westrup will compete over four days against the nation’s top golfers after qualifying as one of six individuals from the three NCAA regional championships. Westrup is slated to tee off at 8 a.m. MST Tuesday during the first round. She will begin off of the first tee and is paired with Sara-Maude Juneau of Louisville and Angela King of Stanford. She will then tee off from the 10th tee at 2 p.m. MST on Wednesday with the Thursday and Friday pairings set according to the results of the first and second rounds. The event will be played on the 7,248-yard, par 72 Champions Course at the University of New Mexico. The course boasts fairways that stretch out long and wide, bobbing up and down, both right and left – all factors that make it difficult to reach the rolling, well-manicured greens.
