LYON, France – Led by sophomore Lauren Bradley’s 22 points and nine
rebounds, the Florida State women’s basketball team shot 57 percent from the
field and defeated A.L.G.M., 86-40, Tuesday night in a very physical game at
    the Internationale Geland.

“I was real pleased with how hard everybody played and they had a lot of
fun running the ball in transition,” FSU Head Coach Sue Semrau said. “We
involved everybody offensively and had an exceptionally good shooting game.
I thought our guards took good shots and hit the posts extremely well. Our
scoring in the post was strong and I think we got better team-defensively
too, holding a team that likes to run to 40 points.”

The two teams traded baskets for the first four minutes of the game, but
the Seminoles took a 9-7 lead off of a Brooke Wyckoff jump shot and never
trailed again in the uptempo contest. Paced by sophomore Katelyn Vujas
first-half 10 points and senior Vanessa Fuchs‘ nine points off of three
treys, Florida State led 42-22 at halftime.

The Seminoles held A.L.G.M. to just 18 second-half points while more than
doubling their own score. Bradley had a huge second half, scoring 15 of her
22 points in the final 20 minutes, while adding four blocks to her
performance. Senior Levys Torres tied Bradley for team-rebounding honors
with nine boards to go along with her six points. Junior Lakesha Springle
led the squad with six assists while Fuchs recorded a team-high five steals.

“Getting the early lead gave us a great opportunity to work through some of
the things that have plagued us in the past,” Semrau said. “I was really
glad that we had the chance to go up against the press so early and I think
we started to learn the concepts and learning those concepts in August can
be a great springboard for us come October, November.”

Also scoring in double figures were Fuchs with 13 and Vujas with 12.
The Seminoles will play their second game of the tour, tomorrow night in
    Switzerland.
