This Sunday, I have finished my career as a student-athlete here at Florida State University. Once the last ball was struck, I realized there will be no more practice, no more travel and no more competition for me as part of Florida State tennis. I realized what I have experienced as part of this team will not have its continuation on the court next season. However, I also know my experience as a member of the FSU’s women’s tennis team has made my life richer. I have met a bunch of amazing girls and two of the most inspiring coaches I have ever worked with. It is thanks to them I have grown as an individual and became a part of a program that ended up being history in the making. I would like to thank all my teammates from this year and the years before for this unforgettable time of my life. I would like to thank my coaches, Jen and Oliver, for giving me an opportunity to grow and become a better student, athlete and an individual as a whole. Finally, I would like to thank the entire athletic department and people involved because it is them who create the spirit of this program and make student-athletes like myself comfortable in this environment. This program has made a huge impact on my life.
This Sunday, my journey as a student athlete has ended, but my journey as a student of Florida State University will continue as I will begin work toward a PhD degree this fall. Even though my days of competition have ended, I will always be a Seminole. It is because of everyone involved with this program, from coaches to athletes to athletic support to contributors, I am who I am now and I am a Seminole. Thank you to all of you. GO NOLES.
