Florida State’s Shawn Brown and Georgia Tech’s Clayton Porter share this
week’s Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Indoor Track and Field Performers
of the Week while North Carolina’s Ola Sesay garners the honor for the
Brown, a junior from Tampa, Fla., competed in the Kroger
Invitational and cleared an NCAA provisional mark of 7’3.75″ in the high
jump. This is the top result in the ACC this season as well as being
the third-best mark in the country to date.
Porter, a senior from Chesapeake, Va., participated in two events for
the Yellow Jackets at the Kroger Invitational held in Blacksburg, Va.
In the long jump, Porter registered an NCAA provisional mark of
24’11.25.” He also competed in the 60 meter dash where he tied the
ACC’s fastest time of 6.87.
Tar Heel senior Ola Sesay garners the ACC Women’s Indoor Performer of
the Week after posting a first place and NCAA automatic qualifying mark
of 20’11.75″ in the long jump at the Kroger Invitational in Blacksburg,
Va. She also posted a time of 8.52 in the 60 meter hurdles which is the
fastest time in the league this season.
