Singleton Ready For USA Hoops

July 15, 2010

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –
Florida State Basketball All-American candidate Chris Singleton has played against both Kevin Durant and LeBron James this summer. He will continue taking his game to a higher level as he joins the USA Select Team July 19-24 in Las Vegas to practice and learn from the USA National Team. Singleton is one of 20 elite collegians will train against the national team as it prepares for the 2010 FIBA World Championships in August.

Singleton will practice and play against some of the worlds top players as the USA Select team helps prepare the USA National for future international events. The current members of the national team are preparing, hopefully, for a place in the 2012 London Olympics. Confirmed to be on the court in Las Vegas are Chauncey Billups (Denver Nuggets), Tyson Chandler Dallas Mavericks), Stephen Curry (Golden State Warriors), Durant (Oklahoma City Thunder), Tyreke Evans (Sacramento Kings), Rudy Gay (Memphis Grizzlies), Eric Gordon (Los Angeles Clippers), Danny Granger (Indiana Pacers), Jeff Green (Oklahoma City Thunder), Andre Iguodala (Philadelphia 76ers), David Lee (Golden State Warriors), Brook Lopez (New Jersey Nets), Robin Lopez (Phoenix Suns), Kevin Love (Minnesota Timberwolves), O.J. Mayo (Memphis Grizzlies), Lamar Odom (Los Angeles Lakers), Rajon Rondo (Boston Celtics), Derrick Rose (Chicago Bulls), Amar’e Stoudemire (New York Knicks), Gerald Wallace (Charlotte Bobcats) and Russell Westbrook (Oklahoma City Thunder).

“Long-armed and athletic, Chris Singleton can guard multiple positions, block shots, rebound and throw his body around. He has an impact on the game, and with his ability to run the floor and play with great energy, Singleton turned some heads in Akron (at the LeBron James Camp). He brings value in so many areas. I was really impressed with Singleton.”
