Tallahassee, Fla. – For those who thought they would have to wait until December for more track, think again. Representatives from the Florida State track and field team are scheduled to compete on the national stage at the 2006 AT&T USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Indianapolis, Ind., from June 21-25 and on the international stage at the 2006 Jamaican National Championships from June 23-25.
Redshirt senior Lacy Janson (Sarasota, Fla./Cardinal Mooney) will make her first appearance after winning her second national pole vault title on Sunday afternoon. Classmate Natalie Hughes (Grand Junction, Colo./Palisade) is scheduled to race at 5:10 p.m. on Thursday with the finals slated for 7:40 p.m. on Saturday. Triple jumpers LaToya Legree (Lithonia, Ga./Stephenson) and Alyce Williams (Palm Coast, Fla./George Mason) is one of the first competitors on the stage, hitting the runway at 6:10 p.m. on Thursday.
On the men’s side, national champions Garrett Johnson (Tampa, Fla./Tampa Baptist Academy) and Rafeeq Curry (Miami, Fla./ACE Academy) compete on Friday (6:40 p.m.) and Sunday (2:45 p.m.), respectively. All-American sprinter Greg Bolden (Morrow, Ga./Albany State) races in the opening round of the 100m at 6:55 p.m. on Thursday.
