Softball Falls to Miami-Ohio

TALLAHASSEE, FL — The No. 17 Florida State softball team dropped a
doubleheader this after to the visiting Redhawks of Miami of Ohio. The 3-1
and 4-1 losses put FSU at 20-11 on the season while Miami improves to 6-4
overall.


Florida State managed 15 hits on the afternoon but stranded 19 runners
through the two games. Miami put on an offensive showcase with 18 hits,
including four doubles. The Tribe also had three errors for the day. FSU
leadoff hitter Dana Bailey had two hits and drove in a run while hot hitter
Corrie Williams also had two hits, including one double, and one RBI.


FSU will host Purdue, a team the Tribe has beaten twice already this
season, in a single game at 6 p.m. tomorrow at Lady Seminole Field. The
Tallahassee Democrat Florida State Invitational begins Friday morning.
