TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (seminoles.com) – The Florida State softball team is hitting the road for their final fall scrimmage away from Tallahassee this weekend as they will be facing USF at the USF Softball Complex on Sunday, Oct. 20, at 12 p.m. Fans and friends of the program are also invited to join the team and coaches at a meet-and-greet on Saturday night at RJ Wings N Things in Tampa, Fla.
The FSU Dugout Club and Seminole Boosters are welcoming Seminoles of all ages to the family-friendly event to meet Head Coach Lonni Alameda and her staff, as well as the entire 2014 team. The event is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. and will continue into the evening as they watch Florida State football take on Clemson in a top-5 matchup with kickoff coming at 8:22 p.m. on ABC.
Fans are encouraged to RSVP to Kristin Tubeck of Seminole Boosters at firstname.lastname@example.org, but an RSVP is not mandatory in order to attend the event.
“We’re excited to have the opportunity to play a top program such as USF during the fall season,” head coach Lonni Alameda said. “This is a chance for us to gain experience and improve as a team.
“In addition to that, we are looking forward to visiting with many of the Boosters, fans and alumni in the Tampa area. It is always great to be able to meet with those who are so supportive of our program.”
FSU softball wraps up its fall schedule at JoAnne Graf Field in Tallahassee on Friday, Nov. 8, at 5 p.m. with a scrimmage against Pensacola Junior College. The Seminoles will scrimmage twice on Saturday, Nov. 9, with a Garnet-Gold scrimmage at 10 a.m., and against Wallace (Ala.) Junior College at noon.
