TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (seminoles.com) – A total of 15 Florida State softball home games in the 2012 season feature several entertaining promotions that make the Seminole Softball Complex at JoAnne Graf Field one of the fan-friendliest NCAA venues in the nation.

“We are very excited about our fun promotions this season and what we can offer to our fans,” head coach Lonni Alameda said. “No matter what your age is, there are promotions for everyone. Besides the obvious goal of being successful on the field and in the classroom, one of our objectives every season is to create a tremendous experience for our loyal fans in the stands.”

Highlighting the vast array of marketing activities in 2012 are three scheduled Seminole Softball Dugout Club Socials. The first booster-related event begins this Friday, Feb. 10, at approximately 5 p.m. after FSU’s 2:30 p.m. matchup against Ole Miss as part of the Seminole Classic at JoAnne Graf Field. The other two socials are set for April 1 following FSU’s 12 p.m. doubleheader versus UNC, as well as following the team’s 1 p.m. doubleheader on April 21 against Boston College.

Interested fans can support Alameda and the Seminoles this season by joining the Dugout Club. The Dugout Club is a restricted club that helps the softball program directly by providing for extras not in the softball budget. There are seven different levels of membership, ranging from $50 (Spear Member) to $5,000 (Olympian Member). For more information visit www.seminole-boosters.fsu.edu or call (850) 644-3484.

Other promotions in the 2012 season include Team 2 Team activities, where youth softball or baseball teams can meet their favorite FSU softball student-athletes through meet and greet sessions on game day.

Two FSU baseball-related promotions will occur for the Seminole softball team’s two ESPNU home games scheduled for April 2 and April 16 at 7 p.m. versus UNC and Georgia Tech, respectively. The April 2 contest against the Tar Heels will feature 200 tickets given away for one FSU-Miami baseball game occurring between April 20-22. The two rivals on the diamond dueled to an incredible three-game series in Tallahassee in 2010, which featured two walk-off victories by the Seminoles.

The April 16 game includes 200 tickets given away for another FSU baseball game, this time against Maryland between May 5-7.

In addition to the baseball ticket giveaways, FSU’s first nationally-televised game of the season against the Tar Heels is also Military Appreciation Day. Included in the promotion is the honoring of the Wounded Warrior Project, which provides services and programs for injured service members.
Six home games will include $1 hot dogs at JoAnne Graf Field, starting this Sunday. Additional contests include Feb. 19 versus Mercer, March 11 against N.C. State, April 2 against UNC, April 15 versus Georgia Tech and April 22 against Boston College.

The annual “Paint it Pink” game occurs on April 15 against the Yellow Jackets, which is a noon doubleheader. Every year FSU softball raises money to benefit the Sharon Ewing Walker Breast Health Center in what has been an enormously successful event over the years.

Free youth clinics will be conducted following this Sunday’s games, while another clinic will occur on Feb. 19 following the 1 p.m. Mercer contest. Following FSU’s game against South Alabama on April 14, there will be a home run derby challenge.

Garnet and Gold shakers will be passed out for FSU’s home game versus rival Florida on April 4 at 6 p.m. The last contest in Tallahassee between both teams in 2010 set an attendance record at JoAnne Graf Field.

Additional promotions include a Black Alumni event that will be part of FSU’s home contest against Florida A&M on April 10 at 6 p.m. The final home weekend of the regular season on April 21-22 is known as throwback weekend, while the Sunday contest features senior day.

Extra promotions could be added during the season. For any updates on FSU softball marketing activities, follow the team on Twitter at @FSU_Softball, or access the team’s Facebook page by searching “Florida State Seminoles Softball.”
