Sophomore Michelle Steakin earned her way into the Seminoles’ starting line-up for both the team team’s first two events of the spring season and helped Florida State to a seventh place finish at the Lady Gamecock Classic. For her efforts, she has earned her way into FSU history and onto the official website of the athletic department. Take a read and see how she fared in the hot seat as she prepared for the Liz Murphey Invitational at the University of Georgia March 25-27.
Q:Do you ever get nervous on the course?
A:I am nervous on the first tee, the first day of a tournament, but in a good and psyched kind of way. I’m usually okay by the second tee.
Q:How long does it take you to forget about a bad shot?
A:I have recently learned to forget about a shot immediately after I’ve hit it. I can’t do anything about the shot once it has been hit; the best thing to do is to give all my focus to my next shot.
Q:Who makes your favorite pizza?
A:I love going to Broadway Pizza with my teammates!
Q: Will a woman ever win a major on the men’s tour?
A: I’m sure the day will come; hopefully it will be one of my teammates!
Q:Have you ever made a hole in one?
A:I’ve come close a lot, but almost doesn’t count! I’m still waiting for mine!
Q:What was your favorite childhood cartoon?
A:My favorite childhood cartoon was probably Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! I loved them!
Q:In the movie Happy Gilmore what famous game show host does Happy get into a fight with?
A:Bob Barker! So funny!
Q:Who would win in a fight, a penguin or a koala bear?
Q:Smooth or chunky peanut butter?
A:Smooth (def. Skippy!)
Q: What is your biggest fear?
A: I really don’t like bugs, spiders, snakes or any creepy little crawling insects or animals…… I’m also a little afraid of all the tough classes that I have to take to major in accounting!
