JUNIOR (2017):

Finished second on the team with a .315 batting average in 63 games played (62 starts)…team-high 15 home runs and 21 doubles and 78 hits…hit a home run against LSU in FSU’s first game at the College World Series, just the second home run to straightaway centerfield in TD Ameritrade Park…named to the College World Series All-Tournament Team…season-saving triple against Auburn in the Regionals (FSU trailed 7-6 with two outs in the ninth inning before Busby’s triple off the centerfield wall tied the game; FSU would win in the 10th)…hit .444 in the ACC Tournament, leading FSU to its seventh league title…had four doubles, a home run and five RBI over four games…hit two home runs against Stetson…became the first FSU player ever with three or more runs batted in in five consecutive games en route to National Hitter of the Week honors from the NCBWA (April 24)…set career-highs in single-game runs (4 vs. Oakland), hits (4 at Louisville), and stolen bases (2 vs. Samford)….597 slugging percentage led the team…taken 88th overall in the 2017 MLB Draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates…finished FSU career hitting .297 with 181 starts in 188 games played…hit 38 home runs and had 165 runs batted in with a .556 slugging percentage.


Appeared in all 63 games of the 2016 season, while starting 62 of them…led the team in slugging percentage (.597), triples (5), home runs (14), and putouts (543)…accomplished 23 multi-hit games and 16 multi-RBI games…connected on his first collegiate grand slam on April 10 in an FSU 16-5 win over No. 4-ranked Louisville…delivered a walk-off single on May 28 versus Miami to send the Seminoles into the ACC Championship Game to face Clemson…in the last eight games of the season, from May 26-June 13, he was able to raise his average by 24 points allowing him to end the season having batted .323…earned Most Outstanding Player honors of the Tallahassee Regional after batting for an average of .417 and a slugging percentage of 1.118…participated in the TD Ameritrade College Home Run Derby in Omaha on July 3, acting as the lone representative from the ACC…played summer ball for the Hyannis Harbor Hawks in the Cape Cod League where he was named Baseball America’s No. 4 prospect in the league after playing 29 games with an average of .322, while scoring 16 runs and stealing nine bases.


FRESHMAN (2015):

Started 57 of 65 games at third base in his freshman season, hitting .242 with nine home runs, 15 doubles, 45 RBI, and 27 walks…tied with John Sansone for the team lead in doubles, while his nine home runs were second on the team and his 45 RBI placed him third…in total, half of 48 hits went for extra bases…average jumped to .321 when facing left-handed pitchers…went 3-for-4 in his second start of the season against Oakland (Feb. 14), tallying two doubles, four RBI and a run scored…also had four RBI in the Saturday night game at Miami (April 25), going 2-for-4 with two doubles…hit two solo home runs against Florida (April 14)…finished the year 12-of-13 in stolen bases, including two against UNC Wilmington (Feb. 27) and at Florida (March 17)…in relief at Florida in the NCAA Super Regionals (June 5), hit a double and came around to score…played summer ball with the Kalamazoo Growlers of the Northwoods League.



Graduated from Sarasota High School in Sarasota, Fla…selected for the Florida Athletic Coaches Association (FACA) Baseball Classic after his senior season…named a FACA All-Star…earned First Team All-Area honors…garnered a national ranking of 195 by Perfect Game.



Son of Wayne and June Busby…has one brother, Dalton, who played baseball at Georgia Southern…father drafted by the Chicago White Sox in 1988…majoring in social science…born on November 28, 1995.
