CAREER ACCOLADES:

2012:

Appeared in 15 games used primarily as a defensive replacement…recorded 12 at-bats…walked and scored a run against Maine in game one of a doubleheader…tallied five putouts in the outfield with a season-high two coming against the Black Bears…transferred to the University of Tampa following his sophomore season.

2011:

Made 20 appearances with four starts in his first season at Florida State…hit .355 (11-for-31) with two doubles, one home run, two runs scored and nine RBI…recorded an RBI single in his first collegiate at-bat in the season opener against VMI…tallied a season-high three RBI in game one against Hofstra driving in all three runs as he belted his first collegiate home run over the fence in left field in the eighth inning…all four starts came as the Seminole DH with his first collegiate start coming against Duke…went 1-for-3 with two RBI on two sacrifice flies in leading FSU to a 13-9 victory over the Blue Devils…made two appearances in the NCAA Tournament…picked up a base hit against Bethune-Cookman in the regional opener and played in game two against Texas A&M in the Super Regionals.

HIGH SCHOOL:

Standout at Clearwater High where he ranked No. 96 in his recruiting class…earned Under Armour All-American honors in 2009…participated in the Florida Athletic Coaches Association state All-Star game as well as the Pinellas vs. Hillsborough All-Star game at Tropicana Field…outstanding student who ranked in the top five percent of his class with a 4.5 GPA…a member of the National Honor Society.

Son of Martin and Joanna O’Brien…has two sisters, Christy and Alanna…signed with FSU in the fall of 2009…played with the Winter Haven Loggerheads of the Florida Collegiate Summer League in 2011…member of the 3.0 GPA Club (Fall 2011)…majoring in Business Management…born July 29, 1991.
