Started all 67 games for the Seminoles in their run to the College World Series and a top four finish…one of just three players to start every game in 2012…every start came behind the plate…caught 576 innings of the 598.1 total innings played…finished the season hitting .230 (47-for-204) with nine doubles, 35 runs and 41 RBI…led the team with 16 HBP – fourth most in a single season at FSU – and with nine sac-flies…ranked third on the team with 61 walks…finished fourth in the ACC in walks and ninth in on-base percentage at .428…led the league in walks (32) and second in on-base percentage (.459) in ACC games…ranked nationally in base on balls (5th), sacrifice flies (11th), base on balls per game (14th) and hit by pitch (59th)…drew a walk in 41 of the 67 games that he played including 15 multi-walk games…recorded a career-high four walks in the opening game against Virginia (3/17)…drove in James Ramsey for the winning run in the eighth inning in game two against the Cavaliers (3/18) to break a 3-3 tie…went a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles and two singles to lead FSU to a sweep at Georgia Tech (4/8)…also drove in a career-high three runs in the win over the Yellow Jackets…later tied that mark with three RBI against Stanford in game one of the Tallahassee Super Regional…scored a career-high three runs versus the Cardinal in the Super Regional clinching game…finished the two-game series against Stanford hitting .429 with four runs and five RBI…recorded a career-high 16 putouts thanks to 16 strikeouts in a win over Jacksonville (2/21)…closed out the year with a .983 fielding percentage…threw out 26.2 percent of would-be base stealers…registered two pickoffs…played over the summer with the Alexandria Beetles of the Northwoods League.
Saw limited action during his sophomore campaign before suffering a season ending right shoulder injury…appeared in 10 games making one start…lone start came as the Seminole DH in the middle game against VMI…went 1-for-2 with a double, two RBI and a run scored in a win over the Cadets…finished the season hitting .111 (1-for-9)…posted a 1.000 fielding percentage as he was perfect from the field in 13 chances…recorded a season-high five putouts from behind the plate in the first game against Maine.
Versatile freshman saw limited action, appearing in 19 games…made the most of his opportunities, batting .333 (4 for 12)…all four hits were doubles, contributing to his .667 slugging percentage…reached base 10 times in 18 plate appearances for a .556 OBP…saw action at first base and catcher…drew a walk in his first collegiate at-bat…registered a career-high five putout at first base in game 2 of a doubleheader against Hofstra…first career hit was a two-out double into the right field gap in the series finale against Georgia…doubled in the ninth inning of fame 2 at North Carolina after checking in at catcher in the eighth inning…reached base safely in both plate appearance against LeMoyne (5/2)…drew a bases loaded walk for an RBI in the seventh and followed with his fourth double of the season into the right-center gap in the eighth…played over the summer with the Orlando Mavericks of the Florida Collegiate Summer League.
Played four years of varsity baseball at Port St. Lucie High School…earned first team All-State accolades as a senior…named a second team All-State honoree as a junior…All-Conference as a sophomore, junior and senior and was an All-County honoree all four years…Honor Roll student; received Principal’s Honor Roll throughout his senior year…nominee for Young Floridian.
