ON LIGHT

A member of two NCAA Tournament teams in the first two years as a member of the Florida State men’s basketball team…joined the Seminoles in the fall of 2016…earned playing time for the first time in his career in five games as a sophomore during the 2018 season…an outstanding teammate who is one of the most coachable student-athletes on Florida State’s roster…has helped Florida State to a .700 overall winning percentage (49-21) and 21 ACC wins in the first two seasons of his career…his strengths include his high basketball IQ, his ability to break down defenses with his ball handling and his extremely accurate outside shooting… adds depth and experience at the guard position and helps the Seminoles prepare for the rigors of the season…traveled with the Seminoles to Jamaica during the summer of 2017 and gained a great deal of playing experience…is one of two left-handed players on the Seminoles’ roster which also features left-handed guard Anthony Polite…played at very high levels throughout his prep career which has helped him become a very competitive player…awarded the Unsung Hero Award by the Seminole coaching staff at the 2017 Florida State Basketball Honors Banquet…earned the Unsung Hero Award for the second consecutive season as a member of Florida State’s Scout team — the Green Vipers — at Florida State’s 2018 Honors Banquet.

AS A SOPHOMORE (2018)

Averaged 1.2 points and 0.2 rebounds in five games as he helped the Seminoles reach the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament…playing time came for the first time in his career in Florida State’s victory over Fordham in the 2017 Jamaica Classic (Nov. 17)…earned playing time in Florida State’s victory over The Citadel (Nov. 24) and against Southern Miss (Dec. 21) with both game coming at the Donald L. Tucker Center…scored the first two baskets of his career – both were 3-pointers – in the Seminoles’ 98-45 win over Southern Miss…consecutive field goals made for the Seminoles against the Golden Eagles gave Florida State a 93-41 lead with 2:11 left to play and a 96-41 lead with 1:48 remaining in the game…playing time in the NCAA Tournament came in victories over both Missouri in the first round and against Gonzaga in the Sweet 16…helped the Seminoles defeat the No. 8 Tigers, 67-54 at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn. (March 16) and top the No. 4 seeded Bulldogs, 75-60, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles (March 22).

AS A FRESHMAN (2017)

A redshirt season…practiced and traveled with the team throughout the year…one of the Seminoles’ top practice players who often emulates the opponent’s best shooter in practice…helped Florida State to a No. 3 Seed in the West Region of the NCAA Tournament to tie the highest seed in school history…Florida State defeated Florida Gulf Coast in the first round of the NCAA Tournament (March 16, 86-80)…helped Florida State to a 26-9 overall record and a 12-6 record in ACC play…the Seminoles’ 12-6 overall record allowed them to finish in second place in the ACC standings and tied the school record for ACC wins in a single season…the Seminoles were ranked as high a No. 6 nationally during the season.

AT IMG ACADEMY

Averaged 10.4 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 18 games played…shot .420 percent from the field, .430 percent from the 3-pont line, and .730 percent from the free throw line…totaled a season-high 30 points against Victory Rock and 20 points against D.M.E. Academy.

AT MONTVERDE ACADEMY

Graduated from Montverde Academy in 2015…was a member of the Eagles’ prep team coached by former North Carolina shooting guard Dante Calabria…totaled a season-high 26 points against Victory Rock.

AT ST. STEPHEN’S & ST. AGNES

Attended the school during his sophomore, junior and the first semester of his senior year season…the school is located in Alexandria, Va. …averaged 6.4 points in 24 games as a member of the varsity team as a sophomore in 2013 and averaged 5.2 points in 21 games as a junior in 2014.

AT GONZAGA COLLEGE HIGH SCHOOL

Attended Gonzaga College High School in Washington, D.C. as a freshman during the 2010-11 season…was a member of the freshman basketball team during his one season as a member of the Eagles’ program.

Born June 14, 1996…Travis is the son of Sandra and George Light…his father played basketball at Hampden-Sydney in 1986…an older sister, Jordan, played basketball at American University (2014-17)…a member of the academic Honor Roll throughout his high school career…has trained for over 10,000 hours with Reginald Kitchen…major is Business Management.
