Cross Country: Competed in two meets, highlighted by an 11th-place finish at the FSU Invitational with an 8k personal-best (26:31.2).Indoor: did not compete. Outdoor: posted the two fastest 1500m times of his career at the Seminole Invitational (4:01.43) and UNF Twilight (3:59.92).
Cross Country: Saw his first action in FSU gear while competing in two meets…opened up at the Charlotte Invitational by placing 20thover 8000 meters (27:34.0)…came back with a 40th place finish for the Seminoles at the FSU Invitational, covering 8k in 27:40.5. Outdoor: After sitting out the indoor season competed in three meets…made his track debut as a Nole at the FSU Relays, placing fourth in the 3000 (9:05.47)…ran the 1500 (4:02.63) at the UF Tom Jones Memorial…capped season with a new PB in the 1500 and UNF East Region Preview (4:02.34).
Sat out his entire freshman year as a redshirt…did competed unattached at the Seminole Invitational…placed second in the 3000 (9:20.65) and also doubled back in the 800 (1:59.1).
His family fled the war-torn region of Darfur in Sudan, Africa in 2003 and found refuge in Tampa area…competed in track for four seasons and cross country for three in high school…was named Tampa Times’ Cross Country Runner of the Year in 2012 after posting six victories and two runner-up finishes…highlights included capturing Hillsborough County title and a fifth-place finish at the FACA Senior All-Star Meet on FSU’s Apalachee Regional Park course…posted a 5k cross country PR of 16:00.85…began his track career as a would-be sprinter but emerged as a distance runner…3200m PR of 9:34.61 was set at 2013 FSU Relays…also boasts a 1600m best of 4:32.42…full name is Zainelabdin Salih Ahmed Fator…born Jan. 7, 1994.
