Made two appearances as a sophomore, pitching 1.1 innings of relief against Syracuse on April 9 and at No. 5 Oregon on May 6…allowed four runs on four hits with two walks and a strikeout.
Saw action in eight games out of the bullpen as a freshman, posting a 1-0 record with a 7.50 ERA…tossed 9.1 innings and gave up 10 runs on 19 hits with three walks and five strikeouts…retired the only batter she faced in her first career pitching appearance against Stephen F. Austin on February 17…struck out a batter in 0.1 innings of work against Florida A&M on February 24…tossed 1.0 innings of relief against UC Davis on March 5 to close out the game…pitched 1.0 innings with a strikeout on the road at Boston College (April 16)…threw 2.0 scoreless innings in relief against Virginia Tech on April 24…earned her first career win at Pitt on April 30 in a relief appearance in game one of the doubleheader, tossing a career-high 3.0 innings…earned two strikeouts in 1.0 innings against Florida A&M on May 5.
Attended Hillgrove High School and earned Region Pitcher of the Year and All-State honorable mention honors as a freshman in 2011…in both 2012 and 2013, she was named first team All-County and All-Region…in her senior season, Evans and Hillgrove finished second in the 2014 GHSA State tournament as she pitched 37 of the 40 innings the Hawks played in the tournament, earning a spot on the All-County First Team…for her high school career, Evans has amassed a record of 47-22 with an ERA of 1.50 and 450 strikeouts in 459 innings pitched…participated with the Atlanta Vipers organization…earned 16U ASA State and National Championships in 2013…placed on the Hillgrove Honor Roll each year of high school and chose Florida State over offers from Georgia State, Georgia Southern, Murray State and Lipscomb.
Born August 26, 1996…has one brother, two step-brothers and one step-sister…looking forward to playing Boston College because she has family up there…favorite movie is the Sound of Music…enjoys psychology class…aspires to be a coach…says the best parts of being a student-athlete are representing a prestigious school and competing against some of the best athletes in the country…cannot live without her pillow that she’s had since she was six years old…enjoys watching One Tree Hill and Gossip Girl…wears No. 22 because she wanted something to honor her mom and she was born on July 22…had two dogs growing up…related to New York Yankee left fielder, Brett Gardner.
