Freshman Season (2017)

A two-way player, Davis appeared in 33 games as a freshman and 25 as a pitcher, with 22 starts overall, including one in the circle…offensively, batted .242 on the year (15-for-62) with two doubles, two home runs, 11 RBI and nine runs scored…she also added 10 walks and two sacrifice flies…in the circle, she was 1-0 with a 1.96 ERA posting one save and helping complete eight shutouts…she allowed 41 hits and 17 runs (10 earned) over 35.2 innings with 15 walks and 17 strikeouts…drew a walk in her first career plate appearance on Feb 10 against Lipscomb…batted 2-for-2 with a walk and two runs scored against Furman on Feb 11…had a career night against Florida A&M on February 15, earning her first career pitching start and tossing 6.0 shutout innings with six strikeouts while facing just one over the minimum…she also went 2-for-2 at the plate against the Rattlers, including a walk and an RBI double…went 1-for-2 with a walk and a run scored against Nebraska on February 18…closed out the games against Northwestern (Feb 18) and Nebraska (Feb 19), tossing 2.0 scoreless innings each, giving up just one total hit and striking out two…went 1-for-3 with two RBI against Stanford on February 23…opened the season with 14.0 scoreless innings in the circle, before giving up two runs against San Diego State on February 24…struck out one in 1.1 scoreless innings against No. 14 Michigan on February 26…drove in a run and drew a walk against Georgia Tech on March 3…hit a double and scored a run in FSU’s win over GT on March 4…did not give up a hit in 2.0 innings against Canisius, walking one and recording two strikeouts…hit an infield single against Notre Dame on March 19, as well as pitched the final 2.0 innings of the game, allowing four hits and one walk with two strikeouts…needed just four pitches to record three outs and close out a 13-1 win at Virginia on March 24…retired all three batters she faced on March 25, including a strikeout, as FSU defeated Virginia, 8-0…had an RBI groundout at the plate on March 26 at UVA, as the Noles completed the sweep of the Cavaliers…allowed two leadoff hits on April 1, but got out of the inning having faced just three batters as Jessie Warren, Ellie Cooper and Carsyn Gordon combined for a triple play in the sixth inning…had a base hit at the plate and pitched a scoreless final inning on the road at Syracuse (4/8)…earned her first career save at Troy on April 18, tossing the final 3.0 innings and giving up just one unearned run. Also added a two-run home run at the plate in FSU’s 9-3 victory…drove in a run against UNC on April 29 and walked and scored one of her own on April 30.

High School

Graduated from Newsome High School in Lithia, Fla…helped lead the Wolves to the FHSAA 8A state championship in 2015…earned All-State First Team honors as she led her team with a 10-1 record in the circle, as well as hitting four home runs and driving in 24 RBIs at the plate…in the state title game, she had a home run and drove in three runs in Newsome’s 5-1 victory over Coral Reef…named Hillsborough County Player of the Year…was a member of the Tampa Mustangs travel team and hit .500 for the summer in 2015 while leading the team in ERA, strikeouts and fewest runs allowed…helped the Mustangs to the 2015 PGF 16U Premier National Championship, tossing 43.0 innings and allowing just one earned run throughout the tournament…selected to the PGF Southeast All-American team…ranked No. 25 on FloSoftball’s Hot 100 for 2016…academically, Davis finished in the top 10 percent of her class as has been on the Honor Court…chose Florida State over offers from Alabama and Stanford.
